Maliyah's 4th bday- she was so ready to have a birthday party. These pictures of her with her cake were her actual bday, January 30th. We went to Fargos to eat dinner and then came home for homemade cake and ice-cream. She got to open her presents from us which was a Playmobile Princess castle with different rooms and people. Her sisters had just as much playing with it as she did.
I made several party favors for her Jessie party. Here are the little martian guys that I made from green colored six lets (from the Party Store), gum ball machine holders (that we got from Fargos on her birthday) and then I just glued on antennas and google eyes and a little strip of paper that said, "We are eternally grateful" These little guys went into her goodie bags for the party.
I decorated the tables with a creme plastic table cover and then cut up old jeans into squares and hot glued them around the table. It made for an easy and inexpensive decoration.
I always enjoy making a table or presenting pictures from the year. That year, we had gone to Disneyland in May and she got to pose for photos with Jessie and Woody and actually got to take a nice little walk holding Jessie's hand. I decorated in red frames, sunflowers and some more "Cowgirl" frames.
These were the treat bags that were given to all of the kids. The goodie bags contained the following items: Jessie/Woody Pez (boys got the Woody pez). There was a Mr. Potato head notebook (dollar Tree), Barrel of Monkeys mini keychain (Party store), red chocolate covered sunflower seeds (Party Store), martian that I made, green army men (walmart), Toy Story stickers(walmart) and fake mustaches (party store) I put all the items into a clear plastic bag, covered the bag with jean scrapbook paper at the top, stapled it and then added red bandana ribbon.
This was her Jessie Cake made by Wright Cakes here in Colorado Springs. The jessie was totally edible and the girls enjoyed eating her up!
Maliyah with her Jessie cake before the party began. We had bandana and jean plates and napkins.
The pendants were a favorite of mine. I used a rope and attached them with clothes pins. I had several different one, yellow ones with the red outline (to match the design on Jessie's shirt, cow print, jean material, wooden fence, jean material and red bandana. All of the scrapbooking paper I found at Hobby Lobby.
These were the Smores on a stick that you make by dipping marshmallows in chocolate and then rolling them into graham cracker crumbs. They were really good. However, one lesson that I did learn. Make sure the Marshmallows on a stick are completely cooled before adding them to the holder (which was a silver planter with styrofoam glued into the bottom of it and covered in pretend straw)... When the Smores on a stick are still warm some of them slid down the stick. I would lay them flat to dry and then insert them into the styrofoam.
I made signs from creme card stock and then backed that with the red bandana paper and smaller pieces of jean material glued onto the signs. This one is Fried Pig skins (Pork cracklin'- found at Walmart)
These are corn muffins to go with the "Cowgirl Chili"(see recipe below)- I found the muffin wrappers at Hobby Lobby as well. 30 wrappers for 4.99.
Party Goers....This was a family party so it was mostly adults here. I got helium balloons that were tied around Jessie, bullseye, Woody, etc. stuffed animals and toys. The balloons were cow print (found online), red and yellow. Those colors really looked good together.
Our little Jessie. She loves wearing her Jessie costume and she fits the part!
Another decoration. We put Dads cowboy boots out with straw and a play snake in them with cards that read, "There's a Snake in my boot"
This was her princess castle that she got from us.
MUSTACHES:
We had them in the goodie bags but we also had lots of extras on hand for the party guests to try on. I wanted to get everyones pictures in the mustaches so that I could make wanted posters for thank you cards. Will be adding them a little later.
Lighting the cake and singing Happy Birthday:)
Opening Presents....
Aunt Tami and Uncle Mick got her this ballerina jewelry box and a puzzle:)
This is her party invitation that I ordered online on Etsy.
Birthday girl is so cute. My cousin planned her spinster's party at one of the vintage interior San Francisco venues last month. Great day celebrated with pretty girls. Jewelry cake and makeup cup cakes were amazingly designed. Jazz dancing and free soul steps learnt by her friend were appreciated by all.
